Loading the fleet and islands.
Broadsides
Sink raiders, haul their plunder to a dock, and upgrade your ship one part at a time.
How to play Left thumb pad: rudder and sails. Hold the left or right cannon button to ripple individual cannons. Release to stop. Dock at gold markers to upgrade.
Steer Drag the thumb pad sideways to turn, even while stopped. Drag up to sail forward, down to slow and reverse.
Repairs Hold REPAIR to patch the worst hull damage. Each patch takes 3.6 seconds and 2 wood from your cargo. Docking repairs the hull for free and keeps up to 8 wood aboard when you cast off.
Weapons Fit broadsides, a bow mortar, stern guns and swivel guns at the shipwright. The mortar aims at the nearest enemy beyond 14 meters. Stern guns fire behind you. SWIVEL tracks nearby enemies; tap it to hold fire.
Camera Choose Chase, Overhead, or Helm in this menu. Drag the sea to look around and pinch to zoom. After two seconds without dragging, the camera eases behind your ship.
Royal Navy British warships are neutral. Fire on one and you turn ROGUE: every British ship nearby hunts you until the timer runs out.
Target lock Once a ship engages you, tap LOCK to keep the camera on it. Tap again to release, or tap twice quickly to switch ships. The broadside facing it shows TARGET. The lock drops when the ship sinks, breaks off or sails out of range.
Keyboard A/D turn. W/S set sails and reverse. Hold Q/E to ripple broadsides, Space holds the nearest side, M mortar, C stern guns, T swivel guns, hold R to repair, V camera view, H center camera, L target lock, Esc pause.
Fleet A sinking enemy may surrender. RECRUIT spends gold and materials from cargo and stores to patch 65% of her hull; PLUNDER takes normal loot. Four companions maximum. HOME sends them to Starter Haven for slow repairs. DEFEND follows and fights your hostiles. Fleet losses are permanent.
Single-player. Progress stays on this device when your browser allows it. The Stormwake is a dangerous distant enemy.
